The St Denis-Montorgueil area has recently been renovated by the city of Paris to create a new pedestrian area in this once neglected corner of Paris. It is the new young ‘hip’ place to live, and with the current heavy property price hike will soon, we suspect, be really " on the map ". It is central and convenient for the Marais, the Louvre, Palais Royal and the metro has two lines which will take you within minutes to the Ile de la Cité, Notre Dame, the Conciergerie, and Left Bank, or alternatively to the famous Grands Magasins, Galeries Lafayettes, Le Printemps.

Meanwhile, at one end of the street you have the rue St Denis, which used to be a ‘hot’ area but with the general development is coming up in the world ! At the other end you have the wonderful rue Montorgueil shopping area, with amazing food shops of every description, pavement cafés and restaurants, and much lively coming and going. This is an area where you really will mix with more Parisians than tourists !

The apartment is the Paris equivalent of a New York ‘loft’ - on two levels, very spacious and light , big windows for the most part overlooking a wall ! The style is ‘minimalist’ - for fans of thick pile carpets and antiques it is not for you !

  • Two street doors lead to a small courtyard and the door to the apartment. Inside you will be surprised by the spacious living room with high ceilings , and possibly by the trendy polished concrete floor throughout. The style is minimalist. White curtains, two white sofas (sofa bed for one - mattress unfolds on the floor), and a white painted dining table with chairs comprises the bulk of the furnishings. There is a functional kitchen area, off which is a low ceiling pantry. Dishwasher, washing machine. Ground floor Bedroom 1 : has a wide double bed, hanging rail and cupboard. Excellent tiled modern bathroom with tub and shower attachment, WC. Stairs lead up to the very large open plan upper Bedroom 2 : white curtains, double bed. Central heating.

*Remember that in France we count ground floor, first floor etc.
