A delightful country home in a tranquil old village, about one hour’s drive to central Paris (or half an hour by train), and only 15 mins from Monet’s famous house and garden at Giverny - featured in so many of his paintings. Also, the American Museum with excellent collection of American impressionists. This is a lovely corner of rural France, with pretty stone villages, fine restaurants. Tennis and horse riding in village, a Country Club at 11kms with tennis, golf, pool, childcare facilities (summer memberships available). General store and restaurant in village, with more stores, pharmacy etc. at Vétheuil 2kms. Within an easy day’s outing are Versailles, Chantilly, St Germain en Laye and much more !
The two hundred year old stone built house, some 3000ft², is set in a delightful fully enclosed garden, with lawn and flowers. (Garden furniture, pingpong in play house.) the house has been charmingly furnished and decorated by its Franco-American owners in a comfortable country style, lots of antiques and pretty fabrics.
French windows from the garden lead to lovely large beamed Sitting/Dining area on two levels, open fire, sofa and armchairs, dining table for 8. There is a nice well equipped eat in Kitchen, Dishwasher. Utility room with freezer, washer/dryer. Garden level guest Bedroom 1 : twinbeds, en suite shower, French doors to garden. Open tread stairs to first floor master Bedroom 2 : kingsize double bed, flowery fabrics, little balcony. More simply decorated Bedroom 3 : two single beds, carpeted ; and Bedrom 4 : two single beds, carpeted. WC. Bathroom with tub, shower, leading to small study (also accessed via kitchen).
