The universally popular Marais is an
ideally central location for visiting Paris. Rue des Rosiers is a narrow
lively street where cafés, modest and not-so-modest restaurants jostle for
space with designer boutiques and Jewish delis - a street of contradictions.
A favourite of Parisians and tourists alike, the heart of the Jewish quarter. On weekends
the street becomes crowded with ambling pedestrians. (Warning - this is right in the
centre of Paris and nightlife sometimes spills noisily onto the pavement late at night.)
Within 5-15 mins walk you can visit 17th c Place des Vosges, Picasso Museum, Museum of
the History of Paris, Ile St Louis, Ile de la Cité, Notre Dame, Left Bank and the Louvre
- just for starters ! Grocery, bakers, delicatessens on doorstep, and
supermarkets 5 mins walk.
