 |
| Le
Roi du Fromage, our local cheese store just around the corner from the
apartment. |
 |
|
A wonderful greengrocer, Gosselin, at the
beginning of the rue du Commerce, across from the church. You know a
store is good when you see so many little old Parisian ladies shopping
there.
|
 |
| One
of our favorite bakeries, Kayser, on rue du Commerce. |
 |
| Another
wonderful bakery, le Grenier de Felix, just a few steps from the
apartment. Not only is the bread great but it is beautiful. |
 |
| Not
to be missed is the organic market on the Boulevard Raspail each Sunday
morning. While not in the neighborhood, it is only a short subway ride
away. Walking through the market is an amazing experience, and because you
are staying in an apartment rather than a hotel, you can buy whatever
appeals to you rather than just looking. |
 |
| Pichard,
on the rue du Cambronne, is famous for their croissants and their
specialty baguette called, Le Pichard. On Sundays the line to buy the
bread stretches out the door and around the corner. It is about a five
minute walk from the apartment, but worth every step. |
 |
|
A view of the Rue du Commerce, the nearby
commercial street which has a wide variety of stores, especially for
good food. The entire street was recently renovated and the sidewalks
widened to make strolling and shopping extremely pleasant. The
neighborhood church, St. Jean Baptiste, is in the background.
|
 |
| Square
St. Lambert, our local park, where you can hang out on the lawn (yes, you
can actually walk on the grass in this park) and have a picnic or just lie
there and relax, all in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. Two other
wonderful parks, Andre Citroen and Georges Brassen, are also within easy
walking distance. |
 |
| The
view out of the dining room windows. |
 |
| The
view from the living room looking over Paris roofs and chimneys. |
