On the Perigord/Quercy border less than a kilometre (walking distance) from the small friendly village of Lacapelle-Biron, two general stores, restaurants, butcher, baker, pharmacy, doctor, tennis, bike hire, etc. Summer farmer's market of local produce. Numerous restaurants within a short drive justify the regional reputation as a gastronomic paradise! Situated in the picturesque valley of Gavaudun, featuring sunny farmhouses, meadows and forest. Friendly neighbours run a small park during the summer season with  'acrobatic tree trails'  (tarzan type stuff - great fun!) and a small 'petting farm' with friendly farm animals. Within l5 minutes drive of three medieval arcaded villages (Monflanquin, Monpazier, Villereal); ˝H from Dordogne valley, and approx. 1H hour to Sarlat and the caves of Les Eyzies - unforgettable prehistoric paintings. Rocamadour, the Lot Valley are also within easy reach. Excellent walking.

This traditional stone country cottage boasts its own paddock (occasionally with cows !) leading down to the trout stream which borders the property. Alongside the stream is a 11m x 4m Swimming pool (uniform 1m50 deep) with attractive terrace, garden furniture, and salt water filter system. The pool is surrounded on two sides by a 1m high fence with gate and juvenile shrubs. The river and pool house form the other two sides. There is a sunny country garden with rough mown grass, flowers , shadey trees and flowering shrubs. Garden furniture and barbecue. The house is prettily furnished and decorated with English and French pine antiques for the English owner's own use. This cottage is for those who enjoy real French country living, comfortable but not smart. The electric supply can be capricious!
